Pockets : The pockets are positioned to be used as hand rests as well as to be accessible when wearing a harness over the jacket. The Alpinism Light jacket is also equipped with an inner zip pocket.
Breathable : Breathable membrane (RET=8) mesh pocket lining. To find out whether a fabric is breathable we test its evaporate resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance the more water vapour generated by an active body is evaporated and the higher the fabric's breathability. We consider that if RET< 9 (such as with the Alpinism Light jacket)= highly breathable fabric / if 9 12 = slightly or not breathable fabric.
Waterproof : 3-layer coated fabric (10000mm); waterproof zips.We measure a fabric's resistance to a water column in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure withstood the more waterproof the fabric. Components scoring 2000mm can resist the pressure from 2000mm of water (which is roughly equivalent to a rain shower lasting 2 hours). With waterproofing greater than 10000mm the Alpinism Light jacket offers an extremely high level of waterproofing.
Composition : Main fabric: 100% polyamide; Bottom of pocket: 74% polyester 26% elastane.
Freedom of movement : Ergonomic cut pre-shaped elbows adjustable hood lightweight (360g in size L).
Weight : 360g in size L.
Compatibility : Hood can be worn with a helmet. Two-way zip for easy access to harness.
Visibility : Colour stands out on rock or snow reflective inserts.
Zips : The Alpinism Light jacket's main zip is a new generation zip that offers the same waterproofing as the classic silicone zips (similar to the pocket zips) while being more flexible which improves the compressibility of the jacket when stored. Plus this zip is easier to handle which contributes to the improved durability. The 2-way zip allows you to use a harness under the jacket. The pulls are easier to handle with gloves.
Hood : The Alpinism Light jacket's hood is large enough to wear over a mountaineering helmet. It is height and depth adjustable to fit your needs. A semi-rigid visor offers better protection for your forehead and eyes. The high collar provides protection for the lower part of your face.
