LifeStraw Steel Portable Water Purifier is ideal for hiking, backpacking, camping and travel. The 2-stage filtration process removes bacteria and protozoa and reduces organic chemical matter and chlorine. LifeStraw Steel Portable Water Purifier uses replaceable activated carbon capsule to reduce bad taste, chlorine and organic chemical matter for up to 1000 liters. LifeStraw Steel Portable Water Purifier uses advanced hollow fiber membrane technology (0.2 microns) to remove waterborne bacteria and protozoa up to 1,000 liters.

LifeStraw Steel Portable Water Purifier sports a durable stainless steel body. LifeStraw Steel Portable Water Purifier filters water quickly and easily. The product requires no batteries or replacement parts, and filters at least 1,000 liters of water over its lifetime. LifeStraw® can be used to drink directly from an open body of water, like a river or lake, or a container, like a bottle or a glass. Its durable and slender design makes it perfect for hiking, travelling, and camping in areas where water may be unsafe to drink due to contamination by chlorine, bacteria or parasites.

How to clean LifeStraw Steel Portable Water Purifier
After every use, backflush your LifeStraw Steel by blowing a breath of air back into the mouthpiece to purge all remaining water trapped within the filter. You can also suck water and then blow it back through the filter. This will help remove air that might be trapped. Leave the caps off until the product fully dries before storage.

What to remember before first usage of LifeStraw Steel Portable Water Purifier
When you use your LifeStraw Steel for the first time, both stages of filtration are completely dry (after storing, for example), and it takes a little longer to prime the filter. It is recommended that you hold the filter vertically in the water, with the water half way up the filter, for 30 seconds before using. This will help get the membranes moist and make it easier to pull water through.

How to spot end of Life of LifeStraw Steel Portable Water Purifier
The flow rate of your LifeStraw Steel will decrease, and then stop pulling water through once it reaches the end of its life. You can increase the lifespan by cleaning the LifeStraw Steel after each use. It is important to change your carbon capsule every 3 months after first use to ensure that the first stage of filtration is working well.

How does LifeStraw Steel Portable Water Purifier cleans water
