SHOWSTOPPER™

SHOWSTOPPER™

Showstopper Brake Technology is Featured in All Rim Brake NSW Wheels Better braking, especially in wet conditions, is one of the premium features on all Zipp NSW rim-brake wheels. Zipp’s Showstopper™ brake track technology.includes 317 groves on each side of the wheel that are directional to wheel rotation to increase stopping power and help clear away water from the braking surface. delivers equal braking force in wet conditions when compared to industry leading aluminum rims. is optimized for use with Zipp Tangente Platinum Pro Evo Brake Pads.

AERODYNAMICS

AERODYNAMICS

Zipp’s sole mission is to help you go faster. That's why the wheels are race-ready before they're camera-ready. For years, Zipp has used a combination of testing methods – wind tunnel, CFD computer simulations, pro athlete evaluations, and on-road testing – to refine aero performance to new levels of excellence. Over the decades of innovation, engineers have learned to look beyond just focusing on simply reducing aero drag. Instead, the goal now is to reduce aero drag while also minimizing the effects of crosswinds on handling. This optimizing of aero efficiency and crosswind stability became known internally at Zipp as AeroBalance™. The approach began with Firecrest technology and has been advanced with the introduction of the NSW lineup, especially with the Sawtooth™ technology found in the 454 and 858 NSW. Sawtooth™ accomplishes this with a series of patented fin-shaped Hyperfoil™ nodes along the inner diameter of the rim that work together with our new HexFin™ ABLC dimples for improved airflow.

COGNITION™

COGNITION™

A star-flanged straight-pull hubshell design on the rear hub distributes the load placed on the hub flange away from the bearings for accurate bearing bores and smooth rolling bearings regardless of spoke tension. ZIPP has also taken care to stack the opposing spokes on each arm of the hubshell to balance the loads placed upon them. This increases the fatigue life of each arm and allows them to use less material for a lighter hub. However, rather than stack the spokes directly on top of one another, they’ve offset them slightly so that the spokes do not intersect near the spoke head or adjoining shank, where the spoke is highly stressed, thereby preventing spoke breakage.
